No one in the pool has UConn or Kentucky winning it all. Therefore, there are no more points to be had. The pool is over!
Easy Eddie Phillips takes home first prize of 2862 points. His son Bruce, a long time pool participant, says his dad is a "Villanova Believer." Easy Ed had Villanova going all the way. But his blind loyalty didn't cost him, as he was otherwise near-flawless across the board.
Conversely, UConn grad Mary Moran had several family members participating: husband Dan, sons Danny and Tommy, brother Tom Klepacki and nephew Greg Klepacki. Not one showed any faith in UConn. That's gotta be smarting right about now.
Pat Gilmore, who knows next to nothing about sports, takes home second place honors (778 points). Joe Martini, who typically finishes in the bottom 10 percent, bucked the odds this year and placed 3rd (503 points). Chris Kabbash, Judy Melani and Jason Henne tie for 4th and have to settle for a measly 106 points apiece.
P.S. The DFS Deadbeat list is comin.' There are several people who have not bucked up the $20 entry fee. If this applies to you, it's suggested you pay up now: 62 Alpine Drive, Wayne, NJ 07470. Or via PAYPAL: dscancarella@optonline.net
