Congratulations! You are cordially invited to participate in the 24th running of the DFS NCAA Tournament Pool! As many of you may recall, 2013 was a challenging year for our pool as I had switched from Turbo Tourney to CBSSportsline because I was away during the tournament and CBS updated the standings automatically. This turned out to be a blunder of epic proportions as many participants experienced pool registration difficulties. We started using TurboTourney in 1997 and regretted the decision to switch to CBS ever since. We are thrilled to announce that we are returning to Turbo Tourney this year.
As a result of switching to CBS last year, our numbers plunged to 162 participants, our lowest total since 2004. We're hoping that by turning back to TurboTourney again this year, we can once again climb back to the 200-participant vicinity we resided in from 2005 to 2012.With that goal in mind, we are lowering the entry fee to $20.00
Despite the relatively low turnout a year ago, Mark Berman still managed to walk away with $2501. John Kidon and Griffin Looney tied for second and earned $547 apiece. John Ricco, Sean Looney and Robert Graziano tied for fourth and made $84.50 each. Johnny Crank wallowed in last place. Sean Looney has now finished in the winners circle three times, while Ricco has finished in the winners circle twice. Ricco's feat surprises no one as he is a sports junkie through and through. Looney's feat, conversely, has confounded all the experts as he knows absolutely nothing about sports.
PLEASE NOTE - I am hearing that many of you are receiving automated emails from CBS regarding the DFS Pool in 2014. IGNORE THOSE EMAILS PLEASE. We are proudly returning to TurboTourney this year.
To reiterate, the entry fee is once again $20. Click here to enter. For additional instructions, rules and for pool history, please click on the links below:
