Pool Back On Solid Footing

As most of you know, it was a challenging week for the DFS NCAA Tournament Pool. Thankfully, it appears that the worst is behind us. I switched from Turbo Tourney to CBSSportsline this year because I'm going away during the tournament and CBS updates the standing automatically. This turned out to be a blunder as many participants experienced pool registration difficulties. Because of this, I flirted with going back to Turbo Tourney this year, after the tournament started. That proved to be impossible as I couldn't get enough people to re-enter their brackets. CBS, meanwhile, enabled me to enter brackets manually, so everyone mailing picks in has been admitted into the pool.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: If you did not submit picks electronically through CBS and instead had the commissioner enter your picks manually, then YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKING THAT YOUR BRACKETS WERE ENTERED ACCURATELY. You are required to perform that function by this Wednesday.

The 2013 DFS NCAA Tournament Pool

Congratulations! You are cordially invited to participate in
the 23rd running of the DFS NCAA Tournament Pool! I’m
thrilled to say that our pool continues to be strong, robust
and very competitive. Last year, in fact, the pool attracted
196 participants.

Kyle Sheridan, the son of Mark Sheridan, a high school chum
of the commissioner, won last year, amassing 3062.  Nancy
Updike, the commissioner's aunt, took home 833 for second.
Rookies Mark Berman and Kate Reuter upstaged numerous pool
veterans to tie for third and claim 441 apiece last year.
Doris Formosa wallowed in last place (196th).

This year's pool has two notable changes:
1. We are switching from Tubro Tourney to CBSSportsline to
manage the pool. The commissioner is going on vacation
during the tournament this year and therefore would have
been unable to update the standings on TurboTourney. With
CBS, the standings will be updated automatically.
2. Our point system has changed. To review this change in
great detail and learn more about our pool in general,
