Afflito Sr. Wins! Robbie Corsetto Place 2nd

Joe Afflito Sr., the 2007 last place finisher, has won the DFS NCAA Tournament Pool! No one has Butler winning it all, securing Afflito of the top spot before the final game is ever played. He wins 3187 points. Robbie Corsetto and John Ferraro tie for second and will claim 701 points apiece. This is Robbie's best showing since he predicted the Never Nervous Pervis would lead Louisville past Duke in 1986. Ferraro has now finished in the winnings a record four times (1991, 1992, 1996, 2010). John's kid brother Nick placed third and wins 382 points if Duke bests Butler. Ryan Finkel takes home third and 382 points if Butler win.

Mark Byrne Finishes Last

With all the excitement being generated at the top of the heap, the commissioner completely overlooked the fact that Mark Byrne has clinched last place. This is actually hardly a surprise, since Byrne hasn't finished in the Top 100 since 2006, when he finished in 92nd place.

Gary Arlio and Richie Corsetto avoided last by one point. Arlio avoided the ignominious distinction of tying Mike Burns as the only person to finish last twice. Gary also finished in last in 2003.

Richie, the older brother to the commissioner's boy hood chum, is some one us younglings looked up to. Now, in light of his woeful performance, we may have to rethink that position.
