The 35th Annual DFS NCAA Tournament Pool

Congratulations! You’re warmly invited to join us for the 35th edition of the DFS NCAA Tournament Pool, renowned as the most thorough and smoothly operated pool around!

Selection Sunday has arrived, brackets are being scrutinized with unreasonable confidence, and once again it’s time for hundreds of otherwise rational adults to convince themselves they can outsmart everyone else.

For the 35th straight year, the DFS Pool will gather the nation’s leading experts, casual fans, and a few individuals who appear to make their picks using methods not fully understood by modern science.

Last year’s tournament produced one of the more surprising champions in recent memory. Gary Arlio astutely navigated the madness and captured the DFS NCAA Pool Championship (3,289). A longtime participant whose previous claim to fame was finishing dead last back in 2003, Gary’s victory serves as an inspiration to struggling bracketologists everywhere.

Finishing in second place (1,265) was Ed Spoleti, who in just his second year in the pool vaulted from a modest rookie finish of 63rd out of 260 all the way to the runner-up position. Early returns suggest Spoleti may be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

Claiming third place (506) was Karen Chang, better known in some circles as Auntie Karen. Remarkably, that marked her fourth trip to the winners circle, having previously finished in 3rd (1997), 2nd (1999), and 3rd (2008). She now trails only the legendary John Ferraro (5) for the most winners-circle appearances in DFS Pool history. Meanwhile, in a result that surprised absolutely no one, Lilly Ricco finished last.
