Papa Louie March has been participating in the DFS NCAA Tournament Pool since the beginning, but had nothing to show for it - until now. Papa Lou shrewdly picked the entire Final Four correctly and now walks away with first prize (2886). Gunslinger Grant Ferraulio, reportedly named after Grant Hill by his Duke fan father, faithfully went with Duke to win it all and was rewarded with second place (1110). Griffin Looney impressively placed 3rd (444), but still has a long way to go to catch his father Sean, a three-time money winner (as hard as that is to believe). Kelly Pompea, meanwhile, somehow believed that Louisville would beat West Virginia in the final and also curiously picked New Mexico State to reach the Final 8. Not surprisingly, she finished in last (228th).

The 25th Annual DFS NCAA Tournament Pool
After getting stiffed for the first time in 24 years (to the tune of $80), Commissioner Scancarella briefly considered terminating his friends and family-fun DFS NCAA pool. Then, thanks to popular demand, he decided "HECK NO!" He will not let a couple of bad apples spoil a good time for the rest of us by breaking the rules. The SHOW WILL GO ON!
Unfortunately, based on the actions of these rule-breaking Bad Apples, a new, unbending and uncompromising rule will be implemented - - - all monies have to be delivered to the commissioner no later than high noon on Thursday, March 19. If payment is submitted by mail, envelops must be postmarked by Wednesday, March 18. Anyone who is late will be declared ineligible and disqualified from the pool. Also, keep in mind, the perpetrators from last year are not completely alone. It's been customary for the Pool Commissioner to have to track down payments well into MAY every year. And this is, after all, MARCH Madness.
Since we anticipate that this rule will result in a reduction in participation, we will no longer have a prize for the 4th place finisher. Directions on how to participate, how to submit dues can be found on the links below. Brackets will be emailed on Sunday night.
Excitedly, we celebrate our 25th Anniversary this year. Easy Eddie Phillips will be returning to defend his crown. Pat Gilmore (second place) and Joe Martini (third place) likewise are expected to return. Last place finisher, Charlie Kabbash, is also back, but no one seems to concerned with that.
