Afflito Sr., Braedon McDonough, Ryan Finkel Vie For Top Prize!

In a shocking twist, Joe Afflito Sr., the 2007 last place finisher, is firmly in the drivers seat to win top prize in 2010. He'll win it all in 5-of-the-8 Final Four scenarios, documented below. Braedon McDonough and Ryan Finkel won't go quietly into the night, though. Braedon wins in 2-of-the-8 scenarios and Ryan wins in 1-of-the-8 scenarios.

Also in the running for a prizes are Kelly Pompea, Nick Ferraro, John Ferraro, Michael Bailey, Derek Pompea, Robbie Corsetto and Kylie Bryan.

John Ferraro could quite possibly become the pools first 4-time prize winner.

Crisis Averted As Kansas State Loses

The money was already spent! Commissioner Scancarella was counting on the full pot, in its entirety! He was the only one with Kansas State winning it all. For the last 20 years, the commissioner has been trying to come up with a unique final game, in the hopes that the strategy will someday propel him to the top. One of these decades, it should work out.

"It's just as well," he said. "The fix allegations were already coming in."

Braedon McDonough is our current leader and has West Virgina winning it all. Derek Pompea and Kelly Pompea, a perennial cellar dweller, also have West Virginia and can finish in the money. Joe Afflito Sr., a last place finisher in 2007, is the leading point man with Michigan State.

Pool Update

Of 204 pool participants, 100 have selected Kansas to go all the way. Ten people have Villanova going all the way, but countless others have the Wildcats going to the Final 4 and beyond. Cara Scancarella seems to have a sure-fire way to accurately make predictions. She selected Tennessee to reach the final game, due to the fact that Miley Cyrus hails from the Volunteer state.

Father In Law Complains

My father in law, John J. Mahoney complained that the fonts are too small on the standings and on the other attachments. My initial reaction, quite naturally, was "that's hogwash!" But after a thorough investigation by the customer service department, we have discovered he has a point . . . although we still think he may have been overstating things when he said "this web site sucks."

If you're having similar issues reading the standings, you have three options:
